Autumn Equinox

Today is the Autumn Equinox and the official start of the Fall Season!

We have certainly been getting glimpses of what is to come.  Here in the Lower Mainland, the temperatures have definitely gotten cooler, and I notice that the leaves are just starting to turn, but there are still some glimpses of Summer’s Glory to be enjoyed here and there.

The Harvest Full Moon,  the one closest to the autumnal equinox and bright enough to allow the finishing of all the harvest chores, falls on October 5 this year.   Reflecting on this, as well as Joni Keim and Ruah Bull’s suggestion that “September is the first Autumn month – a time for self-reflection and understanding, the use of good judgment, and the development of insight, awareness, and intuition.  The essential oils for this month are Spruce for self-reflection, Fir for self-understanding, Bay Laurel for using good judgment, and Clary Sage for intuition“, I believe that this coming weekend will provide me with an ideal time to assess where I at, before moving into the Fall Season proper. Life seems to be on such a fast track these days, that unless I purposefully carve out a little time for reflection, I find it all whizzes by in a flash.

When I set up my space, for this time of reflection, I always like to have an essential oil blend, in a diffuser, aroma inhaler, or more often than not, a mister, to help put me in the right frame of mind.  Taking my inspiration from Joni and Ruah’s oils for September I have prepared a mister spray with Spruce, Fir, Bay Laurel, and Clary Sage, ready to use this weekend.

My Fall Reflection Synergy is Black Spruce 3 drops; Silver Fir 3 drops; Laurel 2 drops and Clary Sage 1 drop. I have made it up in a mister ready to use this weekend.
